Cops cut off a wooded area after “human remains” were found.

Police treat the discovery of what are believed to be human remains in a forest as inexplicable.

Forensic experts are currently on the scene after the grim find at around 4pm on Saturday.

The area in Wallsall, near Cuckoo’s Nook, Sutton Road, has been cordoned off by officers conducting additional searches.

Birmingham Live reports that the incident has already been forwarded to the coroner.

A West Midlands police spokeswoman said: “We are investigating the discovery of what are believed to be human remains in the woods near Cuckoos Nook, Sutton Road, Walsall just before 4pm yesterday (June 4th).

“The area has been cordoned off in order to retrieve the remains and carry out additional searches.

“The discovery is being treated as unexplained at the moment and we have reported the incident to the investigator.

Cuckoo’s Nook and the Dingle is classified as a local nature reserve (LNR) and a nature conservation site (SINC).
