Just three months after opening its doors, Code Ninjas is now forced to close after a car crashed into a business building early Wednesday morning.
Owner Kirsten Kurzhata says she was warned that there was traffic in the building at around 5 am
“I have devices that tell me when traffic is going and my thing crashed and I looked. I just stopped and there’s a vehicle through Code Ninjas. When I saw it, I thought, ‘It’s not a great start to Wednesday.’
Kurdzha says she has informed parents that Code Ninjas will be closed today and tomorrow, and probably longer depending on how much damage has been done to the building.
“There is a definite damage to the wall. We have to make an assessment. I have informed my families that we will not have lessons today and tomorrow and probably in the next few days.”
“At Code Ninjas, we teach children how to code personally. We are for building teamwork and friendship in a fun environment. We are not really designed to work online, so I have to make a game plan, “Kurdzha said.
It is unknown at this time what caused the crash.
Kelowna’s RCMP and paramedics were on the scene at the time of the crash. No injuries to the driver are known.
