Davidstowe Moore jealous: Partygoers praise mass clean-up effort following huge three-day illegal event

Some residents defended the ravers who attended an illegal three-day party over the weekend, with many praising their clean-up efforts. This comes after allegations that the area was left in a “shocking mess”, with fields reportedly muddy and polluted.

Devon and Cornwall police officers were at the scene near Davidstowe, Camelford, after the first reports of “illegal gathering” in the area around 10pm on Friday (June 3rd). Eyewitnesses suggest there were “thousands” in attendance, with the A39 in the area strewn with cars. However, police said on Saturday afternoon that they believed there were closer to “several hundred” at the scene.

After the rave, which ended late yesterday afternoon (June 5th), some locals joined social media to express outrage at the mess made by those present. However, others shared photos of the mass clean-up, which was allegedly organized by the partygoers themselves.

People attending an illegal three-day rave over the weekend were praised for their efforts to clean up after the party.

Tony C. Steed posted photos of the cleanup on Facebook and wrote: “For all the locals who say the Davidstowe rave has left all the rubbish behind, I have cattle nearby and I haven’t had any problems.

“And they refuse to leave until they have collected all the rubbish and all the good people have found them.”

Raver, who contacted Cornwall Live, said: “These events are never thrown away, the whole free party community comes together, leaving it as it is, and God forbid, what a party it was.”

One person commented: “These things don’t happen all the time and it upsets a lot of locals that the animals and the countryside are damaged, it means a lot to the party teams that we don’t leave a mess, yes, we can disturb the peace for a few nights over the weekend, but no we are trying to destroy nowhere.

“There was a lot of free parking on the site, the interruption of roads and lanes was due to the fact that cars could not reach the place and this is unfortunate, as it caused much more disruption than necessary.”

In a separate post, Emma Baker said: “The place was clearly chosen because it was far from all towns and villages, causing as little noise as possible. We did not see any examples of the message received with clear instructions to be respectful and not to block roads.

“People were walking around with garbage collectors and crews from all over Europe came for this truly amazing event. You just have to admire the hard work done to organize an unregistered, independent festival that celebrates music, love, freedom and culture. under the radar with whatever they can. “
