CHARLOTTE – A man was killed in a shooting near Northlake Mall on Wednesday night, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Officials said they were called after 8:30 p.m. to attack with a deadly weapon in block 9900 of Northlake Center Parkway.
A man was found with a gunshot wound and life-saving measures failed, police said.

A large police presence could be seen in the parking lot of Wendy’s restaurant. Patrol cars, lights, police tapes and dozens of police surrounded the area.
A crew of Channel 9 at the scene can see K-9 units looking for evidence.

Wendy’s property is closed, but the rest of the mall is operating normally.
