Matthew McConaughey’s passionate request for gun control

Actor Matthew McConaughey made emotional remarks during a briefing at the White House on Tuesday, making a passionate request for gun control action after a mass shooting at a primary school in Uwalde, Texas.

“We are currently in a window of opportunity that we have not been to before,” said local Uwalde. “It seems that real change, real change can happen.”

McConaughey also highlighted the lives lost in the mass shooting that killed 19 students and two teachers on May 24, 2022, a violent attack that shed light on the epidemic of gun violence that has plagued America.

“Where do we start?” McConaughey asked, “We start by making the loss of these lives important.”
