A 16-year-old from Plimpton-Wyoming was arrested and charged after a threatening message was unveiled on Thursday (June 2nd) in the LCCVI restroom.
Petrolia High School was closed to staff and students the next day as a precaution.
The investigation was conducted by a Lambton County School Resources Officer (SRO) with the help of members of the Lambton County Crime Division and the Judicial Identification Services.
As a result, police were able to identify and arrest the accused on Monday night.
The young man was accused of threatening and mischief and was released from custody.
They are due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia at a later date.
The OPP said that if residents observe suspicious behavior or threatening messages while in a public place, workplace or school, call 911 immediately.
