Update №2 [Thu 9th Jun, 2022 08:45 BST]: The trailer, which reveals the launch date of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, signals the launch of the game on October 7 on all platforms except the Nintendo Switch, it seems. The Switch logo was especially missing from the Summer Game Fest 2022 trailer (below) and seems to indicate that the Switch version of the Firaxis game has been delayed.
We will update this story when we have more information.

Update №1 [Sat 4th Jun, 2022 01:55 BST]: Game journalist Tom Henderson says the revelation, or at least the “rediscovery,” of Marvel’s Midnight Suns could happen very soon.
The game is expected to appear at the Summer Game Fest and is rumored to be released this October and is expected to receive three different versions – improved, legendary and standard. First-class skins are also expected.
He had to say “rediscovery” here or a message or whatever. But you understand the meaning. – Tom Henderson (@_Tom_Henderson_) June 3, 2022
Update [Thu 5th May, 2022 02:25 BST]: Due to the delay in November last year, this game has already been evaluated by the Australian Classification Council.
It received an “M” rating for adults and contains “mature topics and supernatural violence” along with in-game purchases. This is at least a sign that it is still on release in the second half of the year.
If we hear any updates about the release date, we’ll be sure to let you know.
An original story [Thu 4th Nov, 2021 05:30 GMT]: The delays don’t stop now! After Shovel Knight Dig, 2K and Firaxis Games have confirmed that their tactical role-playing game Marvel’s Midnight Suns will no longer arrive in March 2022.
Instead, it has now been moved back to the second half of the year. When it arrives, it will be released on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. The “difficult decision” was made to ensure that this “dream project” for the team could be the best possible game when it is released.
Below is the full update with the kind assistance of the development team:
On behalf of Firaxis Games, thank you for sharing how excited you are about Marvel’s Midnight Suns. We were thrilled to see your reaction to everything from our announcement of the game to the unveiling of our tactical battle based on cards. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a real dream project for the team and we can’t express what an honor it is to create something new in the Marvel Universe.
We decided to share that we made the very difficult decision to move our starting window to the second half of 2022. We know that many fans were looking forward to playing the game initially next spring and this decision did not come lightly. We decided to continue our start because we need more time to make this the best game possible. We believe in our creative vision for Marvel’s Midnight Suns and we want to do justice to providing an unforgettable adventure located in the supernatural side of Marvel. These extra months will be used to add more history, cinematography and overall varnish and will be essential to help us turn our vision into reality.
Thank you for your understanding – you are the best fans in the world.
– Jake Solomon, Creative Director and Garth DeAngelis, Senior Franchise Producer
