A second plane carrying refugees from war-torn Ukraine will arrive in St. John’s next week.
The first flight, carrying 166 people, landed a month ago, and the last air transport is scheduled to arrive at St. John’s International from Warsaw on Tuesday.
All arriving Ukrainians have received an emergency travel permit between Canada and Ukraine, which allows them to live and work in Canada for up to three years. Ukrainians arriving in Newfoundland and Labrador also receive MCP coverage.
Most newcomers will be transported to pre-arranged accommodations in the St. John area to rest and begin to adjust to their new environment, while others will travel to stay with family and friends throughout the province.
