Trong Min Nguyen, 38, was jailed in 2018 after being found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder. Police say Nguyen has also been previously convicted of gun crimes, assaulting a peacekeeper and failing to comply with release conditions.

Nguyen is described as five feet five inches tall, about 130 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes.

The RCMP issues this information and warning after careful consideration and consideration of all related matters, including concerns about confidentiality, with the conviction that it is clearly in the public interest to inform community members about the release of Trong Minh Nguyen, “said the RCMP in Chestermere in a press release.

“The RCMP believes that there is a risk of significant harm to public health and safety.

Mountis said the notification would help the public take appropriate precautions and warned against “vigilance”.

Nguyen was sentenced to 10 and a half years in prison in 2018, receiving about seven years of advance credit for time spent both behind bars and under strict conditions of bail. At the time, prosecutors said Nguyen was linked to the FOB gang, which was in a deadly street war with rival gang FK, of which its planned victim, Vinh Chroong, was a member. Nguyen had previously served a six-year sentence for shooting Truong in 2006.

During the sentencing hearing for the murder plot, a judge attributed great strides to Nguyen’s rehabilitation and chose less than the 15 years in prison sought by prosecutors.
