The missing Vancouver Island girl allegedly abducted by her father has been left in the RCMP squad

A seven-year-old girl from Vancouver Island, who was allegedly abducted by her father in late January, was left in the North Cowichan-Duncan unit of the RCMP on April 20, the RCMP said on Thursday.

According to police, the girl knew the man who brought her to the station. She is said to be safe and has returned to her mother.

Jesse Bennett, 36, is still wanted on a Canadian kidnapping warrant in violation of a detention order.

Bennett and his daughter disappeared three days after a judge ordered him to abide by a joint custody agreement.

He is described as white, five feet 10 inches tall and 160 pounds with blue eyes, brown hair and a beard. He may be wearing a hat or shaving his head.

Anyone with information on Bennett’s whereabouts is asked to contact local police or the North Cowichan / Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522.
