According to Google, a new feature of Google Maps has started to appear in the Android and iOS applications, which calculates the amount you will have to pay as tolls for a given route. Android Police announces that it sees the new toll prices in the app, although it is not yet visible on a pair of devices we tested on the same route. The toll feature was first announced by Google in April.
Google says the toll prices shown are based on “trusted information from local toll authorities” and take into account toll gaps and time of day when calculating total costs. There is still a toll avoidance switch when calculating routes. Google Maps used to be able to warn you when a total fee is paid while traveling, but not calculate how much that fee might be.

According to Google, the feature is available for “nearly 2,000” toll roads in the US, India, Japan and Indonesia for iOS and Android apps. It says it plans to add support in more countries “soon”.
