Calgary was hit by a brief but intense spring snowstorm on Friday morning, which necessitated the abolition of prisoners of war! A parade of wonders that usually marks the beginning of the annual Calgary show.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for Calgary and areas north and west shortly after 10 a.m. Friday. According to him, 10 to 15 centimeters of snow is expected to fall before disappearing in the afternoon.
“Rapidly accumulating snow can make it difficult to travel in some places,” the agency wrote on its website.
“Visibility can be suddenly reduced sometimes in heavy snow. Take frequent breaks and avoid stress when clearing snow.
The Calgary snow warning was lifted around noon, but is still in effect for Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds, Sundre, Rocky Mountain House and Caroline.
The storm forced the organizers of the Calgary Expo to cancel the prisoners of war! The parade of wonders, which had to pass through the center on Friday.
The city says that all the sweeping of the streets, scheduled for Friday, has been canceled due to snowfall.
