2 separate shootings in Toronto: 1 dead in North York, another wounded in Scarborough

Toronto police are investigating two separate shootings Wednesday night that killed one man in North York and wounded another in Scarborough.

Police were called for the first time in the area of ​​Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue at 22:10 for reports of gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim shot in the parking lot of Harlandale Avenue near the entrance to Yonge-Sheppard Underground Station.

Despite life-saving measures, he was later pronounced dead on the spot.

The homicide unit has been called in to investigate.

Fourteen minutes later, around 10:24 p.m., police responded to another shooting in the Eglinton Avenue East and Brimley Road areas.

A man was found with a gunshot wound, police said. The victim was transported to hospital without danger to life.

Police have not released any suspicious information about the two shootings.
