Police are still searching for an armed suspect, a source familiar with the situation told a source in the Washington, D.C.
Two men and a girl were injured, MPD reported. Authorities have publicly confirmed that two people have been shot and it is unclear whether the third victim was shot.
Police are conducting active searches in the area, MPD said. The shooting took place on block 4100 on Connecticut Avenue.
The scene is heavily attended by law enforcement, including the MPD, the city’s Fire and Rescue Service, the U.S. Secret Service Uniform and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Secret Service, said there was no “no impact” on the protected person. The situation is characterized as an “active threat” and residents are being told to take shelter on the spot or to avoid the area.
