A 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 chip is now available to order

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 chip is now available to order worldwide through Apple.com and the Apple Store app. The first deliveries to customers and availability in stores will begin on Friday, June 24, according to Apple.

Apple currently accepts orders for standard 13-inch configurations on the MacBook Pro, with most enhanced custom built-in configurations listed as unavailable at the moment, except for the 24GB / 1TB storage configuration that uses that connection.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro has the same design as the previous model, including a Touch Bar and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. The only notable change is the M2 chip with an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. Apple said the M2 chip has up to 18% faster processor, 35% faster graphics processor and 40% faster Neural Engine compared to M1 chip.

With the M2 chip, the 13-inch MacBook Pro supports up to 24 GB of unified memory, while the M1 chip reaches a maximum of 16 GB of memory. The laptop also supports up to 2TB SSD. Prices start at $ 1,299 in the United States, offering silver and space gray options.

Apple is also releasing a redesigned MacBook Air with the M2 chip, but it’s not available for order until next month. One notable difference between laptops is that the MacBook Air features a fanless design, while the MacBook Pro has an active cooling system to ensure sustainable performance for users with more demanding workflows.
