A man hit by a transit bus from Toronto died: police

A 32-year-old man is dead after being hit by a TTC bus in Scarborough early Monday morning.

Ambulances were called on Markham Road on Blakemanor Boulevard, a star between Lawrence and Eglinton Boulevards around 1 a.m. to signal for a hit pedestrian.

Toronto police say the man stepped into a live northern lane off the sidewalk and was hit by a TTC bus.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the bus driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Collision recovery officials closed Markham Road in both directions for several hours.
