Aston Villa and West Ham have reportedly “submitted bids” for Calvin Phillips, but the player has “his heart” to move to Man City.
Phillips has become an integral player for Leeds United and England. He missed 14 Premier League games last season as a result of a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old has played in all of his last six games as he helped his boys’ club avoid relegation to the Championship.
Sorry Leeds fans, but we would really like to see Calvin Phillips, coach of Pep Guardiola
Man City has defined the English national team as an ideal replacement for Fernandinho.
Football Insider has already suggested that Aston Villa and West Ham have “submitted bids” for the central midfielder.
However, they are unlikely to sign it, as Phillips reportedly has “his heart to join Man City”.
The move is “expected to be completed in the coming weeks”. It is noted that the fee for it will be £ 50 million.
Barcelona are reportedly “fully convinced” that they can complete the signing of Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva.
Last season, he scored eight and assisted four, with 93 points, one point above second-placed Liverpool.
Barcelona has been in contact with Bernardo for a long time, despite their difficult financial situation. On top of that, City have reportedly estimated the player at £ 80 million.
However, Spanish journalist Helena Condis (via Cope) claims that the Blaugrana are “completely convinced” that they will sign with Bernardo this summer.
Writing on Twitter, Condis “rejected” the deal to replace Frankie de Jong – who is associated with the Premier League champions and even more seriously with city rivals Manchester United – because City “does not want” the Dutchman.
Bernardo has been informed of the La Liga club’s interest through his agent Jorge Mendes, and the player and his representatives believe they need to be “patient” this summer.
The Cope report claims that Pep Guardiola spoke with Barcelona President Joan Laporta. In addition, the 27-year-old has an “oral agreement” with his manager that he can leave if a “good offer” comes from Barça.
