Apple earlier this month offered a look at what’s coming in new software updates – iOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13 and iPadOS 16 for election later this year. Beta versions have been made available to registered software professionals of Apple’s developer program, and a public preview will be released next month.
Meanwhile, registered iOS encoders are impressed by a lesser-known value-added feature called Private Access Tokens, which comes in iOS 16. It will ensure that users log in or log in to the website faster than other mobile users.
Almost all websites are equipped with a CAPTCHA verification feature to block access to the web pages of non-human bots developed by bad actors, and is primarily to prevent targeted denial of service (DDoS) attacks.
However, most users find it annoying to waste time understanding and comparing strangely shaped symbols, sometimes when calculating mathematical problems, and the most common of the CAPTCHA verification procedures is to identify the block with traffic signals or fire hydrants in the photo.
Now Apple, in collaboration with ISPs and digital infrastructure providers, comes up with private access tokens that offer a guarantee that someone using certain devices, in this case the iPhone, is a real person and gets automatic access to a website or app.
Apple is taking another mile to improve user privacy, as CAPTCHA tends to register a user’s IP address and also uses fingerprint techniques, online tracking that is considered more invasive than regular cookie-based tracking. . This is done to verify whether a person is authentic or not, as well as to create a user profile for future verification with CAPTCHA. Once a profile is created, the person who goes to the same website will suggest simpler puzzles and reduced complexity and improve the user experience.
Another pain in the CAPTCHA test is that it discourages visually impaired people from identifying images or even calculating math, and those who do not speak English find it difficult to access a website.

But with private access tokens, Apple will block all types of tracking, skip CAPTCHA validation, and offer direct access to the website or application.
Private access tokens are generated by multiple security permissions, starting with a person who opens an iPhone / iPad / Mac with TouchID / Face ID, reopens a website / app with a genuine Apple ID, and launches the code-signed app. All three of these processes ensure that the person is real, not a bot.
It is good that Apple has partnered with Cloudflare and Fastly, which offer their services to most online companies in the world.
In September, most owners of Apple iPhones and Macs will be able to skip the CAPTCHA test and access a website or app faster than ever. In a related development, Apple, Google, Microsoft and others are working on the FIDO standard for password-free login next year.
