June 24 (Reuters) – A Ilyushin Il-76 military cargo plane crashed and caught fire while landing near the western Russian city of Ryazan on Friday, killing four of the nine people on board, RIA reported, citing local authorities.
Five people were hospitalized with injuries, RIA reported.
The Interfax news agency quoted the Russian Ministry of Defense separately as saying that the plane had an engine failure during a training flight. The ministry did not give details of the crew’s death.
