Felix Auger-Aliasime of Montreal won the sixth place in the men’s competition, as four Canadians will compete in the main draw of the Wimbledon singles.
The draw for the Grass Grand Slam was announced on Friday, with Auger-Aliasime coming in as the top Canadian.
Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill is ranked 13th in the men’s draw, while Bianca Andrescu of Mississauga and Rebecca Marino of Vancouver will play in the women’s draw.
Gabriela Dabrowski of Ottawa and partner Juliana Olmos of Mexico are ranked third in the women’s doubles.
The draw did not include top Canadian Leila Fernandez, who was excluded from Wimbledon earlier this month. Laval’s Quebec World Cup, 16, suffered a stress fracture in a quarterfinal loss to Italy’s Martina Trevisan at the French Open.
Auger-Aliasim will face the American Maxim Cressy in the first round. Auger-Aliasime reached the quarterfinals last year before being defeated by Matteo Beretini in four sets (3-6, 7-5, 5-7, 3-6).
Auger-Aliasime, the world number 9, is 30-15 this season and won his first ATP title in Rotterdam in February.
Shapovalov will open against the Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech. The world number 16 reached the semifinals of Wimbledon last year, before losing to the then number 1 in the world Novak Djokovic.
Shapovalov will try to end the difficult period when he entered the Grand Slam, in which he lost the first match in his last five tournaments.
Andrescu, the champion of the US Open 2019, will open against the American qualifier Emina Bektas.
Andreescu, who is ranked 64th, has never advanced ahead of the first round of the All England Club, but has impressed on the grass this season. She plays Caroline Garcia in the final of the Bad Homburg Open on Saturday.
Marino, number 107 in the world, will make his first appearance in the main draw of Wimbledon since 2011, where he reached the second round.
She will start the tournament against the Polish Katarzyna Kava (32132).
Dabrowski and Olmos are looking for a second title this season after winning in Madrid last month.
