Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reportedly met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Defense Minister Lloyd Austin in Kyiv on Sunday.
The Biden administration has not yet confirmed the meeting, but Zelenski’s adviser was quoted as saying by the Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press and others.
Leaders were expected to discuss additional military aid as Russia increased forces in the eastern part of the country, Zelenski said in a statement Saturday.
“I do not think this is a big secret. People from the United States are coming to us tomorrow. “I will meet with Secretary of State Mr. Blinken and the Minister of Defense who are coming to us,” Zelenski told reporters during a briefing.
Blinken and Austin’s visit is the highest-ranking US official to visit Ukraine since the Russian invasion began on February 24.
A source in the Biden administration told Axios that Blinken is expected to testify before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the House of Representatives on Tuesday after his trip.

“We can withstand dark times. And on this bright day, most of us are not in bright clothes, “Zelenski said in a statement on Sunday. “But we are fighting for a bright idea. On the plus side. And the truth, people, Lord and holy heavenly light are on our side. ”
