A driver is dead after a vehicle hit a pole in the northern area of Vaughan early Sunday night, local police said.
Ambulances were called to a section of Jane Street north of Teston Road shortly after 11:30 p.m. for a single collision with a vehicle.
They arrived and found that a vehicle had veered off the south lanes of Jane Street and was straight into a pillar.
One person was pronounced dead on the spot.
York Sergeant Regional Police Headquarters. Mark Lau said his staff was still working to identify the dead driver.
Jane Street was closed between Kirby and Teston roads until about 5 a.m.
