ATLANTA – Atlanta police said they believed five teenagers were riding scooters near an area near Centennial Olympic Park when they all got into a shootout late Saturday night.

Shortly before 10 pm, the APD confirmed that five people had been shot in the area of ​​John Portman Boulevard and Centennial Olympic Park Drive. The victims were children or young adults aged 15 to 19, according to police.

On Monday, visitors to the park could still see a ribbon from the crime scene across the street.

Police said they found three of the teenagers and two others stole someone and went to the hospital on their own.

All five victims are in stable condition.

Police believe the teenagers fought outside the Waffle House, located at 135 Andrew Young International Blvd Northwest, and a shooting took place.

A Waffle House spokesman said there were no customers at the restaurant at the time because the building was locked and offered window-only service.

Police found three weapons and a stolen vehicle.

Police have not released any descriptions of the suspects and the APD is investigating.
