Travis Barker’s emergency trip to the hospital on Tuesday was reportedly due to pancreatitis, which doctors believe was caused by a colonoscopy.
According to TMZ, a number of family-related sources have confirmed that hospitalization is the result of inflammation of the pancreas, which includes symptoms such as nausea, intense stomach pain and vomiting. There are no details on when Barker had a colonoscopy, but TMZ reports that it was “recently.”
The 46-year-old Blink-182 drummer and husband of Courtney Kardashian was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for further care after first entering West Hills Hospital and Medical Center on Tuesday.
His daughter, Alabama Barker, shared an alarming message through her story on Instagram the same day, asking fans to “Please send your prayers.” She also uploaded, then quickly deleted TikTok with the words “Please say a prayer” on which she holds her father’s hand while he lies in a hospital bed. The photo shows the drummer with hospital strips on both wrists, holding his phone in his right hand and wearing a black wrist brace on his left.
Barker’s medical history includes diseases such as staphylococcal infection and cellulite, which is a bacterial infection that can cause swelling, inflammation and pain. In 2018, he received blood clots in his hands, which forced a series of shows from the Blink-182 residence in Las Vegas to be canceled. Moreover, in 2008, Barker experienced the traumatic experience of a plane crash that claimed the lives of six people; he had previously revealed how the incident left him with third-degree burns all over his body.
For nearly three decades, Barker has been a pillar of the music industry. His recent collaborations include Machine Gun Kelly and Post Malone. Recently, the musician is in trend because of his relationship with Kardashian, which was documented in the first season of “The Kardashians” by Hulu last year. The couple married in Italy earlier this May.
Representatives of Barker and Kardashian were not immediately available for comment.
