PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – Philadelphia police are investigating a series of shootings in which two people were killed and 11 others were injured at 1:30 p.m.
A man was shot and killed at about 2:10 p.m. on Block 400 on Manton Street in South Philadelphia. The victim has not been identified.
At around 2pm, police said a 37-year-old woman was shot once in the upper thigh near F and Lippincott streets in Kensington. She was rushed to Temple University Hospital and is in stable condition.
Approximately 10 minutes later, police say four people were shot dead on a 4,000-seat block of Wallace Street. There was no information about their conditions.
A 28-year-old man and a 65-year-old man were shot at around 2:12 p.m. on block 1700 on N. 31st Street in the Brewerytown neighborhood. Both victims were admitted to the district hospital in critical condition.
A 25-year-old woman was shot in the upper thigh on Block 6500 on Walker Street at around 2:41 p.m. She was rushed to a district hospital, but there was no information about her condition. Police said a 33-year-old man was also found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Shortly before 3 p.m., police said an 18-year-old man had been shot twice in the knee on Block 4400 on Holden Street in the Powellton area. He was rushed to a district hospital and is in stable condition.
The shooting continued on Thursday night.
Police say a 22-year-old man was shot at Block 3400 on Braddock Street around 5:30 p.m. in Port Richmond. He was taken to a nearby hospital and placed in critical but stable condition.
At around 6:12 p.m., police said a 37-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman had been shot several times in Block 4900 on Whitaker Avenue. The 37-year-old victim was described as stable and the 33-year-old was in critical condition.
No one has been arrested in connection with the shootings.
