I’m returning brunch!

In the spirit of Come Home Year and everything nostalgic, Signal Hill Campus returns brunch.

Head up the hill this summer to visit the former Battery Hotel and get a chance to visit the revamped Emera Innovation Exchange.

The former Battery Hotel, now the Emera Innovation Exchange of Memorial University, is an iconic structure overlooking the city of St. John from the 1960s. His first iteration was a motel with a car and a gas bar.

If you haven’t had a chance to visit yet and are curious to see inside, you can take a walk up the hill to experience a nostalgic brunch at the Newfoundland and Labrador-style buffet in the beautiful conference room.

Signal Hill Campus is positioned as a center for innovation and community engagement and a provincial resource. The Newfoundland and Labrador harvest year is a great opportunity to re-introduce this dynamic space in the community and its potential to connect people both locally and on screen.

Jordan Wright, director of operations, conference and event services at Signal Hill Campus, has been involved in the remodeling project since Memorial bought the former hotel in 2013 and is excited to host the special event.

Mr. Wright cites Memorial’s new strategic plan, Transforming Our Horizons, as a source of inspiration and welcome to the community in space.

“Memorial’s new strategic plan focuses on creating welcoming, open-door campuses, and we’re really embracing that spirit here at Signal Hill Campus,” he said. “We look forward to our Signal Hill brunch as a way to welcome the community, both residents and visitors, to our beautiful facilities here on the Emera Innovation Exchange.

“We are happy to partner with members of the Signal Hill Campus, Red Oak Catering, Business & Arts Newfoundland and Labrador and Johnson Geo Center families to celebrate our countryside and offer this returning brunch to the Emera Innovation Exchange. Please join us for food, fun and entertainment in July and August! ”
