USWNT vs Haiti score: Alex Morgan’s first-half brace secures 3-0 win in Concacaf W Championship opener

The United States Women’s National Team kicked off the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship in style with a 3-0 victory over Haiti in the opening game of the tournament in Monterrey, Mexico.

The USA thwarted several chances from Haiti, including a penalty miss that ricocheted off the post, but a first-half goal from Alex Morgan and a late goal from Midge Pearse in the 84th minute were enough to secure three points for the Americans on their way to World Cup and Olympic Qualifiers.

Morgan was the star of the show as she scored off Mallory Pugh’s cross in the 16th minute to get things going. She followed that up by heading in Kelly O’Hara’s cross in the 23rd minute.

The San Diego Wave star also hit the crossbar with a header in the 11th minute to put pressure on the Haitians early on. Morgan has 21 goals in his 21 qualifying appearances, including at least one goal in five consecutive qualifiers.
