White House communications director Kate Bedingfield will step down

WASHINGTON—White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield, a longtime aide to President Biden who played a major role in his 2020 campaign, will leave the administration later this summer, White House officials said Wednesday.

Ms. Bedingfield has been one of Mr. Biden’s most loyal confidantes since his time as vice president under former President Barack Obama and is among a core group of senior strategists who helped steer his winning 2020 presidential bid and to lead the first 18 months of his administration.
