What will it take to supply Ukraine over long distances

When Russia invaded Ukraine in February, onlookers envisioned a quick escape to Kyiv; when Ukraine endured a humiliating and sharp defeat for Russia. More than 120 days later, the two sides appear locked in a long war of attrition.

Russia can count on both military and economic advantages as it seeks to deplete Ukraine’s arsenals, starve its citizens and undermine Western support. Whether Ukraine can hold its own against this much larger adversary in a long war appears to depend largely on the sustainability of US military aid.
