RCMP accuses man of attacking employee, property damage after strange incident outside GFW squad

A 46-year-old man is facing charges following a bizarre incident in front of the Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP squad early Wednesday morning.

The RCMP says Trevor Michelin showed up at the RCMP squad around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday and spoke to an officer inside before leaving. A few minutes later, officers noticed Michelin sitting on the front cover of a marked police cruiser parked on the plot, pulling the feathers of the car’s wiper.

Officers warned Michelin to get out of the car and fix the wiper blade, but Michelin grabbed the wiper blade a second time and a police officer pulled it out of the hood.

As officers entered the car, Michelin grabbed the cruiser’s door and slammed it into one of the officers several times. The officer was unharmed, but the wiper blade was damaged along with the cruiser’s windshield. Michelin was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer and damaging property under $ 5,000.
