A man who paid £18 to sexually abuse children in the Philippines has been jailed for three years.

Graham Wilson, 68, ordered the violence from his home in Barnet, London, before he was arrested in November 2019.

Police used information obtained from international partners and social media companies to identify chats where he directed people in the Philippines to perform sexual acts with children.

Wilson also told the kids to abuse each other.

Julia McSorley, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “Wilson’s intended victims were as young as 13 and the actions he demanded were disturbing and depraved.”

Two of the middlemen were detained in the Philippines earlier in 2019.

Chat logs show that Wilson, a former security controller, was involved in directing the sexual abuse of children aged 13-16 on at least four occasions in 2017.

Investigators also found evidence that he paid facilitators between 1,200 and 1,500 pesos (£18-£23) per live broadcast.

Wilson was charged with organizing and facilitating the commission of a child sexual offense and organizing or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child.

He pleaded guilty to all charges.

He will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and is on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Adam Priestley, of the National Crime Agency, said: “Wilson played a significant role in sexually abusing children thousands of miles away.

“He paid for them to be exploited for his own satisfaction, the fact that he did it behind a screen does not absolve him of any responsibility.”

“His actions helped fuel the demand for this financially motivated crime in the Philippines, which is a significant threat globally and in the UK.
