HOUSTON – Thousands of residents in the Houston area are experiencing power outages as temperatures remained above 100 degrees Sunday night.
According to CenterPoint Energy, nearly 31,859 customers were without power around 9:30 p.m

The immediate answer to why so many people were without power remains unknown, but it is believed to be related to the storms that passed along with the excessive heat warning issued for the Houston area.
