The live audio platform Clubhouse announced this week that it is finally launching dark mode support for its iOS and Android users so that they can use the Clubhouse mobile app with a dark interface. However, it will take some time before the option becomes available to all users.
In an official blog post, Clubhouse says dark mode is a long-awaited feature for its users. The company even confirmed that it is aware of the settings and layouts designed to show how many users are waiting for the option to switch to a dark interface. Now the wait is over – or almost.
The Clubhouse app for iOS and Android will now offer support for dark mode and will basically work like any other app that already offers such a feature.
We have heard your pleas. We noticed your tweets. We’ve seen your hacked solutions and mock-ups of the user interface of your dreams. And while it may take us longer than what would be considered “fast,” “reasonable,” or “generally acceptable by human standards,” the wait is finally over. Today we begin to implement the dark mode of Clubhouse in all its gloomy, dazzling glory to you at 3 o’clock in the morning.
However, instead of a completely black interface, Clubhouse in dark mode will have a “velvet dark background” with light text, but not exactly white. According to the platform, this combination aims to make the application more convenient for those who use it at night.
Users can choose to activate dark mode based on device settings or simply let dark mode always be activated.
To get dark mode support, make sure you have the latest version of the Clubhouse app installed on your phone. However, Clubhouse notes that it will take “several days” for the feature to appear to everyone.
