Firefighters put out a heavy fire in a high-rise building

The West Midlands Fire Department is currently witnessing a fire that broke out in a multi-storey apartment building on Middlesbrough Road in Caunden. The fire department confirmed that the fire was on the 15th floor.

The first crew arrived at the scene shortly before 8:50 p.m. tonight, within two minutes of the mobilization. Seventeen response vehicles are on the scene, 13 of which are firefighters.

The fire service is currently unable to confirm the total number of people evacuated, but told Coventry Live that three adults and a child had been evacuated from the 16th floor. They were taken to a safe place by firefighters, who gave them special fire hoods that ensured a safe escape through smoky areas.
