Man City 3-2 Liverpool: Player rankings – What the media and statistics say – Liverpool FC

There were some outstanding performances by several Liverpool players in their 3-2 victory over Man City, as the Reds reached the FA Cup final and kept the four hopes alive.

Jurgen Klopp’s men faced another big match on Saturday afternoon, while Wembley hosted the last clash between the two best teams in Europe.

Liverpool were in the land of dreams in the first half, leading 3-0 at half-time after opening with a header by Ibrahim Konate and a double by Sadio Mane.

The goals of Jack Grilish and Bernardo Silva gave City hope in the second half, but the Reds held on and secured a place in the final next month.

Here we compare our player ratings with those of Liverpool Echo, Telegraph, WhoScored, FotMob and TIA readers.

It was Manet (9.1) who was considered the star of Wembley, as he showed his best performance of the season.

The 30-year-old scored twice, scoring his second goal brilliantly and excelling in the central role, which he began to make his own.

Mike McGrath of The Telegraph described it as a “complete presentation” of Manet as he released his issue for the campaign by 18 p.m.

TIA’s Joanna Durcan gave the Liverpool legend a perfect score of 10 out of 10, saying he was the “driving force” behind the Reds’ victory.

In second place was Tiago (8.5), who was a pleasure to watch in the middle of the park, leading the show all the time.

Echo Doyle of Echo praised the Spaniard’s “excellent range of passes” and said his all-round performance was “exceptional”.

The bronze medal went to Luis Diaz (8.0), as he still looks like a really great addition after a mesmerizing attacking show.

Durcan said he had “the first touch given by the football gods”, while Doyle believed he had given Joao Cancello a “constantly difficult moment”.

Mohamed Salah (6.3) received the lowest average score after his next shot, as his form at the beginning of the season still leaves him.

The big games are still ahead for Liverpool, as the extraordinary rival Man United heads to Anfield on Tuesday night (20:00 BST).
