A Florida sheriff wants citizens to take the law into their own hands if someone breaks into their home.
“If someone breaks into your house, you’re more than welcome to shoot them in Santa Rosa County,” Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson told reporters after the arrest of a suspected offender last week. “We’d rather you did.”
In the case, a 32-year-old man was arrested by police after allegedly trying to break into homes near Pensacola, Florida. At one point he was shot by someone in a house, but the shot failed.
