President Biden, who is prone to blunders, expressed concern after his latest embarrassing mistake, in which he repeatedly stumbled upon the word “kleptocracy” during a speech Thursday asking the US Congress for an additional $ 33 billion aid package for Ukraine.
“Anxious,” Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton tweeted, along with a video of the error.
Biden, 79, spoke of his administration’s plans to seize Russian assets when he faced some language problems.
“We will seize their yachts, their luxury homes and other malicious assets of Putin’s kleptocracy – yes – the kleptocracy and the kleptocracy – the boys who are kleptocracies,” Biden told reporters with a self-deprecating smile.
“But these are bad boys.”
A moment earlier, Biden also wrongly said that the United States would “shelter” the Russian oligarchs “and make sure we take theirs – take their malicious profits.”
In an official transcript of Biden’s remarks, which was later posted on the White House website, the word “adjustment” was deleted to indicate that Biden actually meant “take responsibility.”
None of this escaped the attention of Biden’s detractors on social media.
“America deserves better,” tweeted Matthew CEO Jim Hanson.
Vernon Jones, who is running for Congress in Georgia, called on First Lady Jill Biden to join.
“@DrBiden, this must end. Stop allowing your husband to be abused. For the love of family and country, put his health first. Take President Biden home before he gets up[sic] late, ”she tweeted, concerned about the leader’s cognitive health.
Sports journalist and commentator Clay Travis expressed a similar tone in his reaction: “Joe Biden is not well. This is a shame for our country and the world. He can barely read. Everyone can see the look in his eyes here, he is lost. “
Republican National Committee spokeswoman Emma Vaughn, meanwhile, mockingly wrote, “The White House’s bold moves using ‘kleptocracy’ in Biden’s speech,” alluding to the president’s propensity for blunders in his public speeches.
“Biden’s brain has just broken again,” tweeted the right-wing news site TownHall.com.
However, in response to an avalanche of anxious and vicious comments, some users said Biden struggled with severe stuttering in his youth.
