“We are not local, but when we are in the area, this is our fish and chips shop. Constantly great fish and chips. It’s not greasy, good portions and service with a smile.

“We have already eaten food from Alfie’s twice and in both cases it was perfect.
“Today we had a fever and pea chips. So generous portions and prepared to a very high standard. There is almost no oil, and the dough and chips are perfectly crispy. Cod is a dense fish of good quality.
“I’ve never been passionate about fish and chips before, but after I tried it, I turned around.

“This is the only fish and chips in which I managed to eat the whole thing! The dough is tasty and delicate. The chips are perfect. Pea steaks are so, so good. This is a beautiful dish that you get, not just fast food for home. We often give our children the children’s portion and it is huge. Also a suitable piece of fish.

“After being loyal customers to a close competitive business that was disappointing on the last two visits, we decided to try Pokesdown Chippy. Wow! What a difference.
“The fish was wonderfully fresh and cooked to perfection, the best we’ve eaten in years. The chips were great too.
