Stevenson became the only junior lightweight champion
The judges unanimously judged him (117-110, 118-109 and 118-110) in favor of Stevenson, who took the title of Valdez at the WBC, adding it to his own WBO hardware behind a dominant master class in boxing.

Valdes quickly throws himself, trying to throw everything away and the kitchen sink. He lacks almost everything. Stevenson further disappointed him by messing around in the ring. Too elusive. Ninety seconds left. Interior work highlighted by a short, distinct result from Stevenson. A moment later, he hugged Valdes and shot him with two quick shots. Thirty seconds left. Valdes slammed into the body in a final attempt and Stevenson responded with a right hook. Stevenson dances around the ring and bends during the slimming seconds. Valdes is being chased and comes out empty. What a dominant performance from Shakur Stevenson, who will leave Vegas with two titles. (10-9 Stevenson, 118-109 Stevenson)

Stevenson doesn’t bother with a clinch and twists the meandering left uppercut. Stevenson stung Valdes with an irresponsible combination of three blows to the head, body and head. At the defensive end, he makes a quick pass to Valdes – he almost looks like a matador with a bull in the process. Referee Kenny Bailes warns Stevenson to rest with the blow. Stevenson is so big that it shouldn’t be a problem to be careful. Stevenson forces Valdes’ request to fight inside. Maybe he wants to supplement the statement he makes. Unless Valdes knocks out, this should be easy for the judges to score in the ring. (10-9 Stevenson, 108-100 Stevenson)

Valdes works hard to recruit, but Stevenson conceals and defends well. How disappointing that must be for Valdes, who went inside but couldn’t land anything meaningful. Valdes strives for a wild right hand and misses, as Stevenson smoothly avoids the blow. Stevenson falls briefly to the left to the temple and then completes a combination of three strokes to the body. Valdes lands next to the body as he searches for an equalizer above. The last attempt, he still lacks. Much better round for Valdes, however, he is so low in the scorecards that he will have to deal a devastating blow to have a chance at this point. Valdes caught Stevenson in tight spaces and dug three right hands to the body of the WBO title. He needs more of this kind of result and fast because Valdes is lagging behind in the scorecards. He lands flat on the left side of his face before Stevenson strikes Valdes once more. Valdes respects Stevenson’s strength more as he moves inside with caution. Stevenson hits Valdes and lands at will, especially with this left hand, which connects to the top and the body. Stevenson pours it. (10-9 Stevenson, 89-81 Stevenson)

Stevenson loses between rounds, watching the game he is told from his angle. So far, he has produced a master class. Valdez’s military strength is stifled by Stevenson’s skills. It’s just that simple. Or at least Stevenson makes it look that way. A combination of three blows from Stevenson, which shows that his speed is a level or two above that of Valdes. Valdes tries and misses a left hook, and Stevenson responds with his own left hook. Left hook to the body from Valdes land. He is trying to combine the damaging left hook with more to make this battle much closer. (10-9 Stevenson, 79-72 Stevenson)

Stevenson is firmly in control as he continues to punish Valdes behind the blow, avoiding danger. He catches a rushing, probably desperate Valdes with a perfect uppercut. Seconds later Valdes pressed and this time connected. But Stevenson quickly jumped out and scored more. The uppercut follows. Valdes pumps and connects with his right hand as he closes the ring. Good work from Valdez, but not enough to catch the round. (10-9 Stevenson, 69-63 Stevenson)

Stevenson returned to Valdes’ pepper with the blow. And he catches and releases Valdes, who seemed out of balance. The knockdown hit came from Stevenson’s direct right hook.
Valdes is back on his feet and the battle resumes. Stevenson captures the aggression, combining the power blows behind that blow. Now he is chasing Valdes. Brilliant things from Stevenson. Valdes has a cut under his right eye and his face is flushed from Stevenson’s sharp action. (10-8 Stevenson, 59-54 Stevenson)

Stevenson threw 120 shots in the first four rounds and entered this fifth frame using the same weapon of choice. Valdes makes his way into the phone booth and throws everything crazy with bad intentions – he remains empty in most attempts. Stevenson calculates well and counters with a firm reminder. His range-setting blow is already giving rise to some clever combinations. Valdes shortens the distance again and comes out empty. He also gets hit as he enters. The big left hand lands for Stevenson, who measures and grabs Valdes as he enters. Stevenson’s high IQ is fully shown here. (10-9 Stevenson; 49-46 Stevenson)

Valdes works hard to get inside and gets paid for his grind.
Stevenson returns to his comfort zone and charges Valdes with stinging, fresh punches. Be clear that Stevenson grabs points like this. Valdes rushes forward and crowds Stevenson’s space, but misses most of his results. Stevenson grabs the body and climbs up Valdes. Stevenson checks with Valdes’s motion referee, but the clerk tells him to keep fighting. (10-9 Stevenson, 39-37 Stevenson)

Stevenson is the older man in the ring and Valdes strikes with his right hand, boldly his younger opponent to bring the battle in front of him. Seconds later, Valdes lurks and misses, as Stevenson makes him pay with a counterattack. Valdes goes to the body again and lands, but Stevenson makes him pay with a left hook through his jaw. Valdes increasingly cuts off the ring and hits Stevenson’s body. He breaks right through Stevenson’s guard from Valdes. The referee warns Stevenson of a low shot. Valdes is doing his best round so far. Busy, grinding work by the WBC champion and versatile warrior. (10-9 Valdes, 29-28 Stevenson)

Another combination of three strokes of Valdes peppers. Stevenson essentially performs a target practice. Valdes, meanwhile, pushes and comes out empty. Just as it was said, Valdes pressed his body and found little success, cutting the ring and shooting. Valdes needs to do much more than that to reduce the gap between Stevenson and the WBO incumbent’s excellent boxing skills. (10-9 Stevenson, 20-18 Stevenson)

Crisp’s left-footed shot hits Valdes. A few minutes later, Stevenson made a right-handed strike as a temperature gauge before splitting Valdes’ guard with his left hand. Stevenson’s left is already finding a home. Valdes pushes and Stevenson moves deftly, away from danger. Elusive movement. Left hand to the body, followed by right up. A combination of three strokes is associated with Stevenson. A sharp first round for Stevenson, who early demonstrated these dazzling boxing skills and ring management. (10-9 Stevenson)

Oscar Valdes, with his steely determination and toughness, puts his WBC lightweight championship against Shakur Stevenson’s pure boxing skills with the WBO title of Newark, New Jersey, which will also be grabbed. Who will take it? We are yet to find out. After all, we know who Saul “Canello” Alvarez is pulling for. His roommate, Valdes, of course.
Davis starts a training barrage to aim for a technical knockout in the sixth round
A cutting right uppercut is followed by another right uppercut and a compact right hook in the head. Davis combines this with a right left through Sanchez’s guard and a left hook in the head. Two more left hooks shake Sanchez and the last right uppercut breaks through the guard so the referee can see enough.
Davis continues to impress! The future is bright for Davis and Ali Walsh.
