A man was arrested after an attack on the street in the center of Nottingham, which left the victim unconscious. The victim, a 30-year-old man, was allegedly punched in the face during an incident on Wilford Street, downtown Nottingham, at 3.22pm today (Sunday, May 1).
A police team was on the scene and while an officer rushed to the victim’s aid and checked his injuries, colleagues reportedly managed to detain the suspect a minute after the alleged attack. Shortly afterwards, the victim regained consciousness and was taken to hospital with head injuries.
Nottinghamshire Police Sergeant Laura McCullough said: “Thanks to the quick teamwork of the officers involved, they were able to care for the victim and make an arrest. This type of violent behavior will never be tolerated on our streets, and as we have shown with this incident, we will always take swift and decisive action against anyone who commits such offenses.
A 28-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of assault with grievous bodily harm.
