These were the scenes in Rushlm last night when hundreds of Muslims celebrated Eid al-Fitr on Wilmslow Road.
The iconic Curry Mile was crowded when people celebrated the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in which Muslims fast from dawn to dusk for 30 days. The heavy rain did not dampen the mood, as the festivities continued into the night and early hours of the morning.
Family and friends flocked to crowded restaurants, cafes, and shisha bars as a huge Van Mubarak sign marched down the road. Hundreds of other cars lined the road as people waved flags from the windows.
