The Montreal Aluets closed a deal with Edmonton Els for the first overall pick in the CFL Draft on Tuesday.
Heading back to Edmonton is No. 4 overall and the rights of national offensive lineman Carter O’Donnell, who has a contract with the Indianapolis Colts. He played college at the University of Alberta and was born in the Black Deer.
This probably means that Tyrell Richards will finish with Aluets, as the Syracuse midfielder is widely considered the predicted number 1 overall in Tuesday’s draft. Click here for Marshall Ferguson’s TSN 2022 CFL draft.
Alouettes will select twice in the first round and now have the best selection in addition to the ninth overall selection.
Earlier on Tuesday, Alouettes completed additional trading with Winnipeg Blue Bombers, sending a defensive strike to Cameron Lawson and the 13th overall pick in the 2022 draft for the ninth and 18th pick.
