Amber Heard paused to describe her tumultuous romance with Johnny Depp before widespread drug use and alleged domestic violence exacerbated it.
Describing the first time Depp claimed to have hit her, Hurd said: “I will never forget him. It changed my life.

She said the couple had been in a “balloon” and he stayed with her for days, “painting me, reading poetry to me, just talking.”
“Then he would disappear and there would be no way to contact him,” she said. He disappeared at one point, then came back and said he had a health problem and would I join him in the Bahamas.
“That’s when I learned there was an island.” I was in Spain, redirecting my trip so I could land in Miami instead of LA so I could meet him on the island.
