Terrified Romans introduce evening curfew after attacks on evening carts by packs of wild boars.
An association of middle-class Baldwin residents has advised locals to stay indoors after dark, especially if they have to walk dogs – which could anger wild boars.
“We advise you not to take your dog out to do his work after 8.30 pm,” Gianluca Sabino, who lives in the neighborhood, told the daily. The Republic.
As their numbers grow throughout Italy, wild boars are lured to Rome by overcrowded garbage cans and are often seen walking on the sidewalks in search of breakfast, undisturbed by heavy city traffic.
Approximately 20,000 wild boars now live in Rome and the surrounding provinces. Attacks occur when sows are afraid of them
