A new player-created Elden Ring calculator lets you easily figure out which stamp or stick to use to cast magic, providing you with the optimal catalyst for your spells and spells, simplifying one of the game’s most troubling math problems.
While Elden Ring’s perplexities sometimes add to the experience, such as deciphering the game’s mysterious knowledge, at other times it can turn your character’s outfit into a nightmarish process of cycling and comparing slightly different numbers. This is doubly true for the tainted who use magic, because choosing the right seal or wand depends not only on your statistics, but also on which school of spells or sorcery you use.
Take me, for example. I knew I mostly wanted to use Elden Ring spells, which work a lot like miracles in the Dark Souls series, so I started as a prophet because of his strong basic character of faith. The game flooded me with both magic spells and the stamps needed to cast them, but my wealth quickly buried me under a mountain of indecision. I have never been completely sure that I am using the best catalyst for my design. And as it turned out, I was not.

Using the Elden Ring Casting Tool Comparator, a website developed by Twitch streamer Jerp, I was able to compare each print in the game without having to spend resources to strengthen them to the same level. After entering my statistics, I found that I could squeeze a little more damage out of my faith-based stain overall, using the Erdtree seal rather than the Godslayer seal, my favorite catalyst for much of my Elden Ring game.
Things got interesting when I set up the calculator to read Lightning Spear, my main spell (yes, I’m a basic bitch). Since the Lightning Spear is a dragon cult spell – something I could learn on my own if I paid more attention to the text of the spell – it scales much better with the Gravel Stone Seal. I didn’t miss a lot of damage, considering all the things, but knowing these details some time ago would have made some battles a little easier.
Of course, smarter Elden Ring players are likely to be able to do the job themselves, using only community games and wikis like Fextralife. But if you’re a little stunning like me, check out the Jerp tool. It made me much more excited to return to the game and try new magic compilations.
