A serious collision closed part of the A453 in Nottingham on Wednesday (May 4th) morning. Police are warning drivers to find alternative routes after reports of the accident.
Highway officials have released information that the A453 is closed south between the A52 and the M1 / A50 (near Wilford).
Police say the A453 is between the park and the Clifton roundabout and expect to be closed for “some time”. The signal for the incident was given around 5.40 am.
Emergency and highway staff are on site. A Highways England spokesman said: “The A453 in Nottinghamshire is closed south between the A52 and the M1 / A50 (near Wilford) due to a serious collision. Emergency services, including Nottinghamshire police, are currently on the scene.
A Nottinghamshire police spokesman said: “Due to a serious road collision, the A453 is closed in both directions between the park and the roundabout at Clifton South and J24 on the M1. The road is expected to be closed for some time. Please find alternative routes.
