Arsenal have announced that Mikel Arteta has signed an extension of his contract, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2024/25 season – as the manager outlined his ambitions to direct them to the Champions League.
The Gunners are currently fourth in the Premier League, which means they will qualify for the elite table in Europe for the first time in six years, and the ambitious Arteta has promised to take them to the “next level”.
He set up a pen for a new three-year contract with women’s boss Jonas Eideval, with the club choosing to double-sign at the Emirates Stadium.

Reacting to the step, the ecstatic Arteta stressed the importance of the Champions League and praised the work of the owners of Kroenke.
“Today I am excited, grateful and really, really happy,” said Arteta.
“When I talked to Josh (Kronke), he could see the club at the same time and he wanted to take the club the way I wanted to do it.

Both Arteta and Eideval signed their contracts together in the director’s box in north London, with chief executive Vinay Venkatesham, technical director Edu Gaspar and women’s football chief Claire Whitley also present.
