Fortnite returns to iPhone with Microsoft Xbox Cloud Gaming; Check out the details here

The popular Battle Royale Fortnite game is back on iOS after a one-year ban. As early as 2020, Fortnite was available for iOS through the Apple App Store. However, Epic Games tried to implement a payment method that surpassed the Apple App Store, which led to a ban. Since then, iPhone users have not been able to download or play the game through the App Store. Earlier this year, Nvidia returned the game to GeForce Now subscribers. Microsoft is now partnering with Epic Games to launch the game via Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Tom Warren of The Verge tweeted that this was the first time Microsoft had included a free game on xCloud. Here it is important to mention that Xbox Cloud Gaming itself is not available in the Apple App Store. However, users can access the cloud gaming service through the Safari web browser on iPhone and iPad. Over the last few years, Microsoft has made many improvements in the quality of service, and therefore players should be able to enjoy the Fortnite experience on their devices. Those who want to play Fortnite on iPhone or iPad can go to the official Xbox Cloud Gaming website.

With this, players can not only enjoy the game on their iPhone or iPad, but can also stream the game via Valve’s Steam Deck. In addition, Microsoft also mentioned that it will add more free games to Xbox Cloud Gaming. Announcing this, Tim Sweeney of Epic Games mentioned that “no subscription required, no 30% Apple tax”, alluding to the Apple App Store tax to be paid by customers.

Fortnite is also available on Nvidia GeForce Now

Earlier this year, Epic Games also partnered with Nvidia, bringing Fortnite to Nvidia GeForce Now, another cloud gaming platform that transmits games to users’ devices via an Internet connection. Those who want to play Fortnite on iOS devices can go to the GeForce Now website and register for free. Then they have to join the waiting list, where they can get a chance to try the new version of Fortnite, controlled by touch.
