MasterChef 2022 announces the winner of an intense final challenge

Following are MasterChef spoilers.

MasterChef crowned its winner in 2022 after a tense challenge tonight (May 5), where the finalists presented their best dishes.

After starting work with Gordon Ramsey, this year’s competition culminated with the three finalists – Eddie Scott, Puki Tredel and Rada Cauchal-Boland – to prepare the most delicious three-course dish they could think of in three hours.

It was the sea pilot Eddie who became the 18th amateur chef to take home the title. He won the hearts (and bellies) of Judges Greg Wallace and John Torod with a three-course menu combining Indian and French influences.

For her menus, Puki brought Greg and John to Pookieland with imaginary Thai dishes, while Rada prepared a completely vegetarian meal in honor of family traditions.

As for Eddie, he was inspired by his childhood memories, starting with turbot topped with caviar, oyster tempura and cucumber compressed in fennel oil and beurre blanc champagne – a tribute to his family holidays in Brittany.

His main course was a taste of chicken beer, garnished with cumin and nigella and served with seasoned basmati rice and crispy onions.

For dessert, Eddie presented his classic French dish St Emilion au Chocolat: chocolate mousse with prune puree, prunes soaked in Armagnac, almond frangipani and almond cream and Chantilly Armagnac.

“When I look at you, I can’t imagine doing anything but cooking, you’re a born chef. I can’t give you a better compliment,” Greg told Eddie after tasting his menu.

It was a difficult decision for the judges, who recognized Rada’s evolution as a chef and Puki’s innovative touch. In the end, however, it was Eddie who became this year’s champion, who immediately burst into tears of joy.

“That’s all. I feel like my whole life is being built up so far,” Eddie said after the victory.

“It was just the most stressful and enjoyable. I feel like I’ve really found out who I am as a chef. It’s the best feeling.”

MasterChef is broadcast on BBC One.
