Mike Hagerty, the actor from “Friends” and “Someone Somewhere”, has died

“With great sadness, Michael G. Hagarty’s family announced his death yesterday in Los Angeles. His favorite actor, his love for his hometown of Chicago and his family were the cornerstones of his life,” the statement said.

Hagerty played Everett’s father in the HBO series.

“I loved Mike the moment I met him,” Everett added in another post. “He was so special. Warm, funny, I’ve never met a stranger. We’re devastated he’s gone.”

Over the years, the actor has accumulated a long list of television guest roles, mostly in comedies, but also in dramas such as “ER” and “Deadwood”.

In addition to “Friends”, where Mr. Triger plays the super building, he appeared in a memorable episode of “Seinfeld” as a clothing store owner and had recurring roles in the comedies “Lucky Louie” (starring Louis CK ), The George Carlin Show and, more recently, Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Actor and director Jay Duplas added in a tweet: “Mike Hagarty was a great actor and a great man. I will miss him. He lives forever in our hearts.”

Hagarty is survived by his wife Mary Catherine, his sister Mary Ann Hagerty, her wife Kathleen O’Rourke and their daughter Meg, according to Everett’s publication.
